This is a simplified and slightly adjusted version of the previous Sunset over the Savannah

The walls in our kitchen were so very bare, so I painted this to make me feel at home. Tweaking the original so it would be better suited to the space. However my grandparents came by and promptly borrowed this piece for decoration in their in town office. Its impossible for me to refuse one of my paintings the opportunity to go out into the real world where it can be enjoyed by other people, I simply shall have to paint something else to fill the void in the kitchen again.

This picture was painted after taking a short walk on the pathways the loop around the back of the university. Autumn in the Okanagan is so colourful, living in the valley, you see the fall palette up and down  the mountainside; it is very inspiring. This paintings style is different from the kind I usually choose for landscape, I attribute it to having started so soon after taking the reference photo, while the excitement of the day was still fresh.
